Dilated Breast Ducts

What does dilated breast ducts mean on ultrasound

This means that the milk ducts appear larger than one would normally expect and this would be evident upon Ultrasound examination. Although the cause is not definitely known it can be due to age .... smoking in younger women is said to play a role in ductal ectasia and may lead to an infection of the ducts. A newly occuring inverted nipple may be one cause but this may be an indication of a more serious underlying problem. Regards ....
