Discoloration on both breasts

Hi, I am a 32 year old female.  Tonight, after getting out of the shower I noticed that I have a discoloration on my left breast.  The discoloration stems from the areola on the left breast on the left side.  The color is the same as my areola.  It is in the shape of a v about an inch long and is completely filled in.  Later on, when looking again in the mirror, I noticed the same shape and size v coming from the areola on my right breast.  The v shape on both breasts stem from the areola and go towards the outside of my breast.  Has anyone ever experienced this?  Should I contact the doctor.  I have been lying in the tanning bed for the past month, but I don't think it's from it since the shape in the same on both breasts and are the same size and shape.  Any information would be very helpful....

Dear agnoliama:  Skin on the breast is like skin anywhere on the body and is subject to a variety of abnormalities.  If you are concerned, you should have your doctor evaluate.  A word on tanning beds as this is not a healthy alternative to the sun.  One would be exposed to the same UV rays as one would in the sun.
