Do fibroid adenomas reappear?

Approximately 28years ago, I had a fibroid adenoma removed through surgery.  I have just discovered a new lump which is in the exact same spot as where the previous fibroid was located.  Is this another fibroid or is this cancer?  I do have a diagnostic mammogram scheduled in a week or so.
