Does a Hypo-echoeic lesion look like?

Does a Hypo-echoeic lesion look like?

Hello,
Can anyone tell me what a Hypo-echoeic lesion looks like?
Yesterday i had a scan and mammogram...on the scan I could see 2 cysts and to the right, they showed me a mass which has a grey bit in the centre of it... this is the one they are questioning?  I hve just been to see my doctor and he showed me a letter it says that they think its a Hypo-echoeic lesion...  I would very much appreciate it if there was someone who is qualified to tell me if my above description is as what one looks like on a scan?

I have requested an MRI Scan will this be more easier to see if it is what they think or if its not,and its cancer?
I was so upset yesterday... they wanted to do a biopsy, but i dont clot easily and a needle into such a tender place would cause me to bleed more than normal people would as my clotting level is only 60, on the low side as the abnormal is under  the 50 count mark.

My question is if My clotting factor is low, and they put a needle into the mass, and it causes bleeding, and if cancer cells then get into my blood stream if it was cancerous, wouldnt that be detrimental to my health ?

Thank you for taking the time to read my dilema..
Regards,  Me.

Hi,

A hypoechoic lesion is a finding on ultrasound studies that refers to any structure which bounces back sound waves poorly, so that the image generated appears dark on the monitor screen. Structures which have less density, and contain more water, air or fat may appear as hypoechoic.

Well the fact is that a hypoecoic lesion could be either a cyst or a beign tumour or a malignant tumour.

A hypoechoic lesion means that its density is less than the surrounding normal breast tissue which is said to be isoechoic on ultrasound. Further investigations like a biopsy would be required for a confirmed diagnosis.

A biopsy is a very safe procedure and your specialist will not do it , if it holds any safety concern for you. You could discuss the procedure withyour doctor in detail and clear out any doubts that you are having.

Let us know what the specialist advises and if you have any doubts.

Keep us posted on how you are doing.

Regards.
