Enhancement on Breast MRI

Enhancement on Breast MRI

I'm a 34 year old with family history of breast cancer (my mom and 2 of her 4 sisters). I'm trying to get pregnant and my doctor suggested a mammorgram and an MRI just to be sure I was clear (my mom got cancer when she was 49, her sisters were older).

I did the mammogram and they asked for more pictures, then an ultrasound. The ultrasound showed nothing. But there's an enhancement shown in the MRI in my right breast. They re-did the ultrasound and see nothing. I have a biopsy in a few days. I am FREAKING out and so panicked that I have a fever now. Has anyone has a similiar experience?  Are enhancements usually nothing?

I don't think you can panic yourself into having a fever ..... but I suppose anything is possible ?? An enhancement may be most anything as well as nothing. MRI is a very sensitive method of imagery and often can even show false positives. Try to calm yourself in preparation for your biopsy .... if you are running much of a fever they may not do it until you are temperature free. Take care ....
