Enlarged

My question sounds similar to one down below. Anyway, met with a surgeon yesterday regarding multiple cysts in right breast. Can not be felt but seen. Getting a US/FNA on the 29th. He believes them to be benign. He did however notice I have 6 or 7 swollen and tender underarm nodes. My underarm has been sore for months but I could not feel any lumps so I ignored it. Now I am really frightened. Had a mam and 2 us's and everyone is pretty sure benign changes are happening in my breast, so why are my underarm nodes swollen? I read that breast cancer can show up as swollen lymph nodes in the armpit. Is this common? Are the fact that they are sore making cancer more of a reality. Do many people find out they have breast cancer due to underarm nodes swelling? I have read just about this whole website and am grateful to have a place to ask this question. Thank you so much for your time. HOPING FOR GOOD NEWS FROM YOU.
Also, I am getting an US on my underarm at the time of the US/FNA on my cysts. Can an ultrasound reveal if it is cancer?

Dear stryderlove, Lymph nodes can become swollen for several reasons including cancer, and having this evaluated is appropriate.  Information from an ultrasound can increase or decrease suspicion of cancer, and whether further evaluation needs to be done, but would not specifically diagnose cancer.   Hopefully the information through the evaluation will relieve your concerns.
