Eyelashes are falling out again, is this normal?

I finished 4 rounds of A/C followed by 1 round of Taxol to treat my breast cancer on Jan. 28. I couldn't take anymore chemo as my blood counts were so low and the pain so bad from the Taxol. 5 weeks later my eyelashes and eyebrows all fell out. They quickly grow back very nicely. But now my eyelashes are falling out again.  Why is this happening? Is this normal? I should mention I had radiation that ended in April, if that makes any difference.

Dear remy, Complete hairloss including loss of eyelashes and eyebrows can be the result of certain chemotherapy medications.  After eyelashes regrow they may be more fragile or brittle, which may lead to breakage and loss.  Exposure to the sun can also make the eyelashes more brittle, wearing sunglasses to protect the eyes from the sun is advised.

Most side effects of radiation are usually confined to the area of or path of the radiation beams.

You may want to discuss this further with your physician or a dermatologist as there are other medical conditions which can cause hair loss as well and further evaluation may be recommended.
