My friend is in Argentina and I live in Miami, she has breast cancer and she got mastectomy a few months ago and also chemotherapy. When she finish doing Chemo she had tested with Fish Test in 2 differents laboratories one was positive and one negative.
That's why we want to try to find some help here in Miami and do a third  Fish Test but in a reliable place, to know the right thing to do next.
Please if you can provide me some information about pathologyst or lab where we can get do the FISH TEST
THANKS

Hi there.

The FISH test is usually done to detect the Her2Neu status of a breast cancer tumor.  If this is positive, then additional treatments in the form of Herceptin ( a monoclonal antibody directed towards the Her2Neu receptor) can be given.  Her2 positive tumors are likewise more aggressive and tends to be resistant to some types of chemotherapy and hormonal therapy.  I agree that determining this through FISH is important since it could have a big bearing in the treatment of breast cancer.  I suggest you have the test done in a reputable tertiary center.  Regards and God bless...
