Femara, breast and liver cancer

My friend was diagnosed with breast cancer 3 years ago and within a year had both breasts removed and the lymph
system in one arm removed.   She was on Tamoxifen and is now on Femara.  She is tired, has pain in her stomach, with nausea and has some arm swelling.  She just had another test done last week and now has many spots on her liver and is undiagnosed currently but they are going to perform a pet scan this week.  Could Femara cause any of these symptoms or the spots on her liver.  She is my dear, dear, friend and is kind of in shock right now so I am trying to gather some information for her.  I appreciate any info anyone can give me. some of the symptoms you mention are indeed side effects of Femara ... there can be nausea, tiredness, etc. Also a elevation of Cholesterol levels has been noted with Femara. The spots on the liver could be a result OR possibly not. There will need to be further investigation and evidently this is being done. Hopefully the PET scan will clear this up and if not there is always the possibility that a biopsy will be needed.   Regards ...
