Last week I had a mammogram- routineRoutine sputum culture (suppose to be negative), then- I get the call, they found something they think is just a cyst but I need to get an ultrasound- okay. I get the ultrasound- not a cyst. They think it is a fibroadenoma- but know I need to go to a breast surgeon for a biopsy- this is sch. for tomorrow. I'm not sure what to think?
The biopsy is necessary to determine if this finding is indeed a fibroadenoma. If it is then it's a benignBenign ear cyst or tumor Benign positional vertigo breast tumor and nothing in particular to be concerned about but you need to know this as it could be something else. I'm curious as to why, as you mentioned, the mammogram was supposed to be negative. RoutineRoutine sputum culture mammograms are not read when they are done but at a later time by the Radiologist. The surgeon will evaluate the situation and let you know what type of biopsy would be the best for your particular case. Please don't hesitate to come back with any questions you might have after your appointment. Regards ....
