Fibroadenoma pain

by rjon5176, May 25, 2009 04:23AM
I am a 20 y/o female, was diagnosed with benign firbroadenoa  in my left breast about 2 years ago and has been confirmed by biopsy. I get ultrasounds every 6 months, of which the size of the lump seems to keep increasing with minimal change to calcification. It's about 13mm wide at least ultrasound. Recently i have had alot of dull/aching pain in my left breast and it is much more tender than usual. I am going for another ultrasound soon, but I am wondering if anyone knows how keen surgeons are to remove these lumps considering I am fit, young and healthy i.e. minmal surgical risks. Is it enough that it is tender and causing pain, and is there any particular size that it is removed it at?
Thanks for any input.
