I have recently been diagnosed with a fibroidFibroid tumors Uterine fibroids adenoma in the left breast. This is the same site where I had breast cancer 13 years ago. I recently lost my daughter to breast cancer. I am not that comfortable waiting for six months for another ultrasound to see what is happening. Should I insist on a biopsy?
I'm sorry to hear what happened to your daughter. Knowing your previous history of breast cancer, I will also be inclined to do a more aggressive diagnostic procedure such as a biopsy, rather than depending on imaging studies alone. Any new breast lesion or finding at anytime after the diagnosis of cancer should be treated and worked up as if it were malignant until proven otherwise. I suggest you discuss with your doctors regarding a possible biopsy procedure but I sure hope the lesion will turn out benign.
Regards and God bless.
