Fluid in breast?

Alright well i recently discovered about 3  dime sized lumps on my right breast
the lumps were tender and movable
i pricked my nipple with a needle when i pressed on the lumps fluid extracted from where i pricked

alot of it

after a few days of draining this fluid the lumps were gone

Hi there.

What you did was a really brave thing but I would advise against it the next time a similar situation happens.  Pricking may introduce bacteria inside the nipple and the breast tissues and may cause bacterial infections, sometimes hard to treat and control.  What happened may have been collected fluid from the breast lobes and ducts. Fluids sometimes do collect in response to hormonal changes.  Even if there are no other concomitant problems, such as residual lumps or pain, it is still best to have your breasts examined by your doctors.  He may requests tests like mammogram or ultrasound if he thinks these are necessary.
