Found 6 separate microcalcifications

I just found out that I have 6 separate microcalcifications in my right breast.  I have a call into my gyno doctor with a ton of questions.  I am very anxious as this is all I know about it.  The radiologist said to follow up in 6 months.  I don't really want to wait that long as breast cancer is in my family.  Is it a good idea to wait 6 months?  I don't think I would  have been overly concerned with 1 cluster, but 6???

This discussion is related to cluster of microcalcifications benign?.

You stated 6 microcalcifications but not clusters. Was a BIRAD score stated on the report ?? Trust me, if you had 6 clusters of microcalcifications you would have been referred to a surgeon for biopsy immediately. Microcalcifications do occur normally in breast tissue and are a cause for concern only when they are seen in certain groups or clusters. A 6 month follow-up seems quite reasonable from what you stated.
