Fybroid and Pain

by Starrr, Jun 12, 2007 11:31AM
I discovered that I had a lump in my breast in Oct 06.  I went in for a mammogram and ultrasound which revealed at least 12 fybroids.  My doctor sent out the generic letter stating that they were determined to be benign.  The only information I gathered was discussed with the technician regarding diet and basic information.  My doctor did not attend the procedure which I u/s to be common.  However, I called for a f/u appt to discuss options and findings and I was told that I would need to get a mammogram every year and no further f/u was needed.  It was after a general pap checkup that my Dr. felt the lump, but dismissed it when I said that my breast had this consistency since I stopped nursing my doctor (she nursed well into age 4 early 5).

I became more concerned and called back to the office and asked should I have a mammogram, upon urging and calling back, I was then scheduled for the mammogram.  I have breast pain, some times more pressing then others.  The technician only checked the left breast but stated that if I had that many in the left then I probably had them in the right????   Am I being overly anxious, too concerned.  I now have numbness in my feet and hands and I feel tired.  My regular doctor attributed the sluggishness to my Beta Thal Minor (spelling may be incorrect) and re-prescribed I-car.  Some days I feel so tired, I take 2-3.  I don't feel as sluggish when I take them.  My level was 11.74 on yesterday she feels comfortable with.  I am Anemic......could any of this be related to the fybroids....should I be taking something or seeking further guidance?

Thanks.
