I am a 45 yr old womanWomen's way who underwent a lumpectomy on Tuesday to determine whether the mass is a fibroidFibroid tumors Uterine fibroids adenoma or phyllodes tumor. The mass was core-biopsied last year when it was much smaller and determined to be a fibroidFibroid tumors Uterine fibroids adenoma. They now consider it to be rapidly growing. I have found much information about the rapidRapid shallow breathing growth of phyllodes tumors but nothing about rapidly growing fibroidFibroid tumors Uterine fibroids adenomas. Are there some that grow quickly? This mass is not terribly large (2cm) but was tiny last year.
Fibroadenomas can grow rapidly and 2 cm isn't what I would consider "small". If the mass was diagnosed as fibroadenoma at biopsy I doubt it would now be something else. The Pathology examination will surely give a definite diagnosis. Regards ....
