I'd like to wish you a happy new year and holiday season as well.  This board was invaluable to me during surgeory and treatment.  And to surgeon, thank you too.  I always looked for your comments, which were so insightful and compassionate.  I wish you both much happiness for the holiday season and new year.  I hope this board is back in business soon.

PD2 - Hoping you will notice this comment here as we're not able to add any more under your question.

Since they are recommending that you do a surgical biopsy for the one area, it seems like a hassle to do the other as a separate procedure -- especially since they had problems doing the core biopsy last time.  If it were me, I'd ask them to just go ahead and do both at the same time as surgical biopsies.  That way you can get on with it and get it done.  There shouldn't be that much difference for you as far as prep and recovery from the surgery.  It would probably mean an additional scar if that is a concern for you.

When I went through my last biopsy, it took 3+ weeks for them to determine by mammo and ultrasound that I needed the biopsy; then 3 or 4 weeks to see the surgeon. They did the surgery the next week and it took one more week to get the results of the biopsy.  So yes, the wait times can be excruciatingly long and this is the worst part.  Thankfully, most cancers are very slow growing but the wear and tear on your nerves is an issue.  See if you can move things along and reduce the number of procedures to which you will be submitted.  Sending good thoughts your way and hoping that things work out OK for you.  If you want, you can contact me off line at: ***@****

Has anyone who has undergone chemo noticed that it weakened thier teeth or caused a lot of cavities? Maybe I should be asking a dentist this but does Chemo cause tooth decay?
