Hard Lump on Nipple

by Claire313, Apr 24, 2008 01:02AM
Im 21 years old and just discovered a noticable and painful lump on the top part of my left nipple. It is about the size of maybe 2 peas and slightly red. It seems bruised and hurts when i touch it, but still sore when i dont. I just started the birth control pill (Junel) for the first time about a week ago. I dont know if this has anything to do with it but i am very concerned and i dont know if i should get it checked out or wait until it goes away on its own. Please help me!

Hi,

This could be due to the hormonal changes associated with the birth control pills - but nothing can be said with surety without having a look at the lesions.

Do you have any associated nipple discharge or skin changes?

You should consult your doctor or breast specialsit about this and get a proper clinical examination done.

Let us know how you are doing and if you have any other doubts.

Keep us posted.

Regards.
