Hard gritty lump

In 2008 I found a hard gritty lump round like a pea, got checked and was sent for ultrasound and mammogram, I was 36.
On both I was told nothing but fibroadenoma, and even got the Dr to come have look via ultrasound.
When I tried to find lump it was soft and squishy like a fibroadenoma.
But for the before tests it was hard, gritty like a golfball.
Im looking to get checked again as it still at the back of my mind.
I thought the hard gritty lumps were all cancer.
Could the ultrasound and mammogram missed it.
And could a fibroadenoma formed over the top of the lump and hidden it from the tests in that week.
And does anyone know if a cancer is hidden under a fibradenoma will mammogram and ultrasound miss it?

Have you had a mammogram/ultrasound since 2008?  To ease your worry - why not ask your doctor to order another ultrasound of your lump?  If it has remained stable - I would say your OK.

No I havent, am going to get one as soon as I can.
Im just worried a fibroadenoma moved over top of the lump hiding it on the ultrasound and mammogram becaesr when I feel the spot now where the lump was it is soft and rubbery like a fibroadenoma but it was a different lump the week before the tests.
It was hard and gritty.
Does anyone know how fast fibroadenomas can appear, can they appearxover a week or move and maybe covered the lump in question.
If there is a lump under a fibradenoma will it been seen under ultrasound and mammogram or hidden
