HI BUNNY I HAVE TO AGREE IF YOU CAN TAKE THE A/C CHEMO THE TAXOL IS AWALK IN THE PARK, THE ONLY THING I S I STOPPED MY CHEMO IN OCT OF 06 AND I STILL HAVE THE NEUROPATHY IN THE FINGERS AND TOES, NOT VERY PLEASENT BUT, I'M PROUD THAT I PULLED THROUGH ALL THE CHEMO AND THIS IS JUST A LITTLE BUMP IN THE ROAD THAT I HAVE TO TAKE COMPARED TO ALL THE SURGERYS AND LOSING A BREAST. IF IT GOES AWAY GREAT!!! BUT IF NOT I WILL LIVE WITH IT ONE DAY AT A TIME.... GOOD LUCK , BUT THE TAXOL IS EASY...
I found Taxol to be a whole lot easier then the Adriamycin/Cytoxin "cocktails" I got prior to Taxol. I felt great after the Taxol and only had some aches and pains for about one to one and half days starting about the 4th day after Taxol.
I didn't get any tingling in my fingers. But had it in my toes and heels for a few days. I got my last Taxol October 31 2006 and the only lasting effect I have is my little toes tingle at night.
As some one who was there before me told me: "If you've made it so far (thru A/C chemo) the rest is just a walk in the park. "
Hi my Mom had taxol with carboplatin for ovarian cancer at 46. I would say she did well compare to others. Taxol is a toxic and a good chemotherapy drug. Given as a single agent may not be as toxic though but very doable. Good Luck to you.
