Help understanding MRI report

what does it mean when a breast lump on MRI report shows irregular borders, 8mm in size and has enhancement patterns of Type I, Type II and Type III?
I had this mri on thursday afternoon, dr called me back friday morning and then scheduled me for targeted ultrasound for 2 wks out.  I am also Brca2 + and 45 yrs old

I have had beign biopsy's before, so I am not all that concerned, but this is the 1st time it has been noted with irregular borders and typeIII pattern on it

Thank you for your answer, it confirms what I was thinking.  I am not that concerned because so many times these things are nothing to worry about.

Hi Bonnie,
The MRI finding of an irregular shape or spiculated lump tend to point towards something serious,especially if type III pattern is stated on the report which could demonstrate a malignant lesion.... but that is just a possibility.Nothing can be said for sure without further investigation.
Please do not  jump to any conclusion right now, until more tests are run and most probably a biopsy to reach a definite conclusion.
Because you have tested BRCA 2 positive,you should discuss and decide with a Breast Specialist whether to undergo risk-reducing surgery.
