Herceptin after Chemotherapy

my wife was diagnosed PT2 N0 M0 Breast cancer.she underwent mastectomy and also six cycles of chemotherapy. Her er/pr were negative. Fish test was conducted and HER2 was positive.Our Doctor recommends Herceptin treatment. Is it essential? If so, when should Herceptin treatment start? Should it be started immediately after chemo, or can I be started after a few months?

Herceptin is an extremely important part of the tx of HER-2+ breast cancer.
It has improved the outlook for this very aggressive type of breast cancer.

Your wife's oncologist is the one to answer any questions about the timing of this treatment.
