Hypoechoic lesions

About 3 weeks ago my GYN sent me to have a breast ultrasound, he suspected a cyst on my left breast. I am 25 yeast old. They ended up finding nothing on my left breast, but did find a hypoechoic area on the right breast. This was on my radiology report:
"No findings on left breast. There is a complex Hypoechoic lesion in the right breas at 9 o'clock measuring 7x6x11 mm in greatest dimension. This is probably related to the patient's previous mastitis. However I cannot exclude possibility of Neoplasm and I would suggest a short term follow up examination in 3 months. - - - - Bi-rads category #3"

I did have mastitis (breast infection) when I had my second child about 2 years ago. After the ultrasound they said this thing can clear up by my next imaging test.... I feel that if it was there for 2 years than I don't think it will clear up within 3 months.
I have searched the internet for meanings of "hypoechoic lesion" and neoplasm. I did not find anything good. I am a little concerned that I may need surgery to remove it... But I really hope it is not breast cancer.
At age 19 I had to go and have my cervix biopsied. The patholigy report said it was positive and since they removed all abnormal tissue, they considered it cured. I had normal PAP's ever since.
Do you think the 3 month waiting for another ultrasound sounds OK, or have the lesions biopsied sooner?

Hi,
Me and my doctor decided to wait for a 3 month follow up, and scheduled an appt. for Sept. 1st for an ultrasound.
But about 3 days ago my hubby mentioned something that concerns me... He noticed some white spots on the side nipple of my left breast that reaches down to the areola too. There are about 11 spots and a size of a needle head. They were not there before. He saw them about a week before but only told me a few days ago when he relized they did not go away. The hypoechoic lesion I have is in my right breast....
Do I need to be concerned about these sopts? Should I go and see my doc? Or si it something normal? I didn't try to squeeze it to see if something comes out of it, so I don't know that...
thanks for your help!

Hi,
Ultrasound imaging, also called ultrasound scanning or sonography, involves exposing part of the body to high-frequency sound waves to produce pictures of the inside of the body.
A solid lesion that is markedly hypoechoic is suspicious for malignancy. These masses are intensely black relative to the surrounding isoechoic fat. Malignancies can also be isoechoic and hyperechoic.
When an ultrasound examination cannot characterize the nature of a breast abnormality, a physician may choose to perform an ultrasound-guided biopsy. Because ultrasound provides real-time images, it is often used to guide biopsy procedures.
A breast biopsy involves removing some cells—either surgically or in a less invasive procedure involving a needle—from the suspicious area in the breast and examining them under a microscope to determine a diagnosis.

Since the possibility of a cancer cannot be ruled out and you seem to be anxious(which is understandable) maybe you should go in for the biopsy sooner than the 3 month waiting period.
