I am new to this

I had a breast biopsy yesterday and expect results in a couple of days.
The doctor doing the biopsy said they were round which was a good sign. I had a small cluster last year about 3 in 1cm  Now I have at least 7 in that same 1 cm  Is this common to grow microcalcifications in one year's time?
Should I just hope that because they were not irregularly shaped I should not be concerned?  Waiting is so hard. I am 48 yrs. old and my father died of cancer at my age. I'm scared.

Microcalcifications occur in clusters or groups as an indication that the breast tissue is reacting to some abnormality within the breast. This is not always cancer! It isn't unusual that in a yr's time more calcifications will appear. The fact that your Father died of some other type of cancer would have no bearing on your circumstances. Calcifications appear as timy dots on the film and certain patterns can be indicative of the cause. Please let us know your biopsy results and don't hesitate to come back with any questions you may have.   Kindest regards ....
