I had a Mammography done of both breasts recently, received the reports but find it difficult to understand the same. Can you please explain this to me in a very simple and easy way so that I can understand it ?

MAMMOGRAPHY REPORT OF BOTH BREATS

1)skin, contour and symmetry of the breast appear normal
2)A fairly large well defined circumscribed smooth lobulated opacity measuring       2.3*2.0cm size seen in the left breast medical quadrant 12'o clockposition.
3) another small focal soft tissue  nodule size measuring less than 1.0 cm in size seen in the right side of the breast medical quadrant periareolar region

There is a questionable mass see in the left breast that measures less than 1 inch in both directions and is located in the top portion of the breast. Another finding, much smaller, is found also. It is stated in a way to make me believe that this is in the left breast also but located just to the right of the center of the breast. I'm sure there was an opinion also written in this report along with some additional recommended testing that could include Ultrasound and/or Biospy of some type. You should see your prescribing Physician for a complete explanation of the report.   Regards ....
