I had a lump that was painful in my left breast, now there is black discharge.

hi I had a complete look over at the doctors when my left breast had a lump in it. Now there is what looks like to me a black discharge in the left over milk from my 8 year old son. I never dried up..... My sister thinks I need to get looked at again, but in really tired of doctors who say every thing is fine and then send you home sick.... that's why im now here..       My left breast has always hurt me and I always had left over milk in them but now there is black liquid that is very noticeable in with the milk. Should I get this looked at????   Susanna

Hi.
Nipple discharge can be caused by both benign and malignant conditions.  This is especially true when it involves only one breast.  Benign causes include fibrocystic disease, intraductal papilloma, and duct ectasia.  Malignant causes include breast carcinoma, breast sarcoma, and Paget’s disease of the nipple.
I agree with the previous post.  I strongly urge you to consult your doctor regarding the problem in your left breast.
Take care.

Yes you need to have a doctor look at that. I had that problem four years ago it was not black but the doctor did take a sample. That is something that you have to be seen about ,if you are not comfortable with the answers then there are other doctors. You can ask you regular doctor to find a breast specialist in your area.
