What are the odds (statistics) that a two centimeter "clusterCluster headaches" calcification in the breast is breast cancer? This clusterCluster headaches area is in the breast that never had cancer (let's call it the "good" breast). A stereotactic biopsy will be performed next week, from what I saw in this forum, it is painfulPainful menstrual periods afterwards. Should I get a prescribed painkiller (after the biopsy) before I leave the hospital? I had breast cancer at 41 (6 yrs ago)for a 1.6 cm lumpLumps in the breasts, treated with lumpectomy/radiation/Femara. There was no cancer in the 2 removed sentinel nodesLymph node biopsy Swollen glands Swollen lymph nodes in the groin Swollen lymph nodes under arm of the "good" breast, but cancer was receptive to hormones and I haven't reached menopause. Looks as if I'm 'on that road again' doesn't it? What are the odds that it's cancer, 50/50? or 1 in 4?
(reading about Azile brought back lots of memoriesMemory loss Mental status tests - i hope those will be just memories for her soon)
From what I understand from what I have read, there is not a correlation between getting calcifications and a previous cancer. If the calcs developed by the incision by the first cancer it could just be the result of trauma done there. Since it is in the other breast, stats show that 50-80% of calcifications with a briad of 4 being benign. I AM NOT A DOCTOR SO MY WORD IS DEFINITELY NOT LAW! maybe post on the other site for a doctor's word. I truly wish you the best. Please take care of yourself and I hope this nightmare ends soon. God bless.
Hi all: I'm a newbie. I am a 58yr old female and had my yearly mammo last week. Doc called me to say that the radiologist found some calcifications and wants me to return for a magnified mammogram. My doctor called me agin today to follow up and make sure that I was able to get an appt. I do have one this Friday!
Anyway, I look forward to reading your stories and good luck to all and God Bless.
