My Mammography Report :

Bilateral film mammography has been performed using a low radiation dose film screen technique.Craniocaudal & mediaolateral oblique projections have been obtained using a special dual compression technique.

Both breasts are dense due to predominance fibroglandular tissues, this sumwhat limits evaluation by mammography.

There is a large rounded density seen in the left breast superolateral quadrant, with clear outlines.this on sonomammography appears as a simple cyst measuring 2.2 x 1.9 cms & is seen at 3 O'clock position. There are tiny simple cysts seen in both breasts.

No evidence of any foacl spiculated lesion, cluster of microcalsifications or any retraction of tissues is seen to suggest the presence of malignancy.

Conclusion : Dense breast due to predominance of fibroglandular parenchyama.Bilateral simple cysts, largest is seen in the left breast at 3 O'clock position.BIRADS-2

Hopefully I can set your mind at ease a little. A BI-RADS 2 means that they see something but that it is benign, in your case cysts. The doctors don't answer questions on this board as far as I know. It sounds like you are pretty young still which is why your breasts are dense, Everything looks good.
Congrats on a good mammo!

Hi,
No, you dont have to be worried. As your reports say these are benign lesions and you can discuss with your treating physician whether you need to get them removed or not.

Category 1 - Negative
Category 2 - Benign Findings
Category 3 - Probably Benign Findings, Short Interval Follow Up Suggested
Category 4 - Suspicious Abnormality, Biopsy Should Be Considered
Category 5 - Highly Suggestive of Malignancy
Category 6 - Known Biopsy Proven Malignancy

The above is the classification used by American College of Radiology. And yours is category 2 - benign.

Let us know if you have any other doubts and post us about how you are doing.

Regards.
