I sort of finally got the "Final" report?

So after 3 weeks of waiting this is what I got. It kind of bothers me too, I'm wondering if I should just press for a biopsy or what? I just want to hear "Yes or No" if it is or not. Any suggestions or has anyone else had a report like this?

Addendum Begins
Previous mammograms Truxtun Radiology 06/11/2009 bilateral mammogram, right breast images
06/25/2009, 06/30/2009, 12/15/2009 are available for review.
FINDINGS: As compared to the left breast images of 06/11/2009, the left breast microcalcifications
cannot be confirmed as stable due to differences in the technique. While these calcifications are
scattered with no dominant cluster followup left breast mammogram in 6 months including
magnification views is recommended to document prospective stability.
BIRADS: 3 - Probably benign - 6-month followup

HISTORY: Screening mammogram 07/29/2011 prompted recall for asymmetry, lateral right breast
and left breast microcalcifications.
DIGITAL MAMMOGRAPHY FINDINGS: Spot compression view of the lateral right breast effaces the area of asymmetry consistent with superimposition of fibroglandular parenchyma. Magnification
images of the left breast were performed. These demonstrate scattered microcalcifications
predominantly in the left upper outer quadrant. Many these calcifications are punctate, others appear somewhat amorphous. Comparison to mammograms previous to 2010 would be recommended to assess for long-term stability.
IMPRESSION:
1. No mammographic evidence of malignancy.
2. Extensive microcalcifications, predominantly left upper outer quadrant. Patient states she has had prior mammograms previous to 2010 out of state. These films will be attempted to be retrieved for comparison and additional report with final recommendation will follow.

I would suggest asking the doctor who ordered your latest mammo for a referral for a consult with a breast specialist/breast surgeon.

That would give you another opinion about whether there is any indication for a biopsy, as well as an opportunity to discuss your concerns with a specialist in breast issues.

Best wishes,
bb.

How and who do I push about getting a biopsy?

Although it would be nice to have a definite "yes" or "no," that's rare when discussing microcalcs.

However, even though the difference in technique between your 2009 and more recent mammograms did not permit a direct comparison that would allow the radiologist to definitely conclude the calcifications are stable, the s/he did not see anything suspicious enough to label your findings as "BI-RADS 4, Biopsy recommended."

With a "BI-RADS 3, Probably benign," it is common just to recommend follow-up imaging after 6 months.

However, it is your body, so if you're not comfortable with this, you could get a second opinion from a different radiology practice, or press for a biopsy.
