I found a rigid vein in my left arm pit and a lumpLumps in the breasts in the left breast about a month ago. I just saw my ob/gyn on Friday and she confirmed that the left breast was slightly larger and that there was more fibrousFibrous dysplasia tissue there. They also did a CBC and ordered a mammogram and ultrasound for Thursday Sept. 4th.
The nurse just called and said that the CBC was normalNormal saline flush, so does that automatically rule out cancer? What should I expect when I go in for the tests on Thursday?
Hi Jennifer.
How are you doing?
A normal CBC would not rule out the presence of cancer. Breast cancer is diagnosed through biopsy, supported by clinical evaluation and diagnostic examinations like mammogram and breast ultrasound.
I agree with your decision to seek consult with your doctor. Hopefully the result of your examinations would point to a benign pathology.
