Infection after lumpectomy

I had lumpectomy 7 weeks ago then SNB 4 weeks ago I met Rad dr he says I have infection (some fluid in breast also) put me on antiboctics 4 days ago it opposite area of cancer side not insicion area. It is light red and warm to touch. I am supposed to start radiation in 4 days.  Any information nervous I getting treatment near my home but the surgeron is  2 hours away should I go back see sugeron to evaluate my breast before radiation. Thank you in advance.

Although I do not have any advise, I wanted to send healing thoughts your way.  It's bad enough dealing with your disgnoses.  Having to deal with an infection also, seem overweening at times.

I would think that you are seeing an Oncologist but that may be who you have referred to here as the Rad dr. I believe I would definitely see your Surgeon and get this infection taken care of BEFORE any Radiation treatments. Radiation can delay healing and isn't usually started until complete healing has taken place. Regards .....
