Inflammatory Brest Cancer and Radiation

I completed radiation 6 weeks ago (37 treatments) after being treated for inflammatory breast cancer, my recent scans came out clear.  I have been having some discomfort in the axilla area as well as my ribs, they seem to believe this is trauma from the surgery (modified radical mastectomy) as well as swelling from the radiation.  My question is this, how long does it take to recover from the surgery and the radiation treatments?  How long should it take for the swelling from the radiation to decrease and could the radiation cause scar tissue also? And what is surgery trauma?
Thank you.

Dear Coco, Recovery from radiation therapy and surgery does take some time, the swelling could take from weeks to months to go away.  Trauma means injury or wound, surgical trauma refers to the injury or wound (incision) that was received at the time of surgery.
