Insurance after masectomy

by On The Vine, Oct 01, 2002 12:00AM
I am looking for an insurance company that will insure me.  I had a benign phyllodes tumor.  I opted to have a masectomy.  I now find myself uninsurable.

Is there any one out there that has found an insurance company that will insure someone that had a phyllodes tumor?  any help will be greatly appriciated.

Thank you.

Dear on the vine:  I am not an insurance expert but I believe most companies must provide open enrollment.  This may be expensive and it may exclude any breast-related problems for a period of time.  You might check with your local department of social services or ask a social worker at the hospital where you were treated.
