Invasive Lobular Breast Cancer

I would like to know if anyone out there has been diagnosed with Invasive Lobular Breast Cancer.  I just got diagnosed, but have not completed all the tests, such as the breast MRI.  I have had the bone scan and ct scans of my internal organs, but that is it.  I have to wait 2 months to talk to the doctor and I'm worried it is spreading while I'm waiting for my appointment.

Anyone out there experienceing the same thing?

Why would they make you wait for 2 months? Is that for a plastic surgeon? I had stage 3 invasive lobular carcinoma, 2 nodes involved, 10 cm mass. The MRI should show what you're dealing with as this cancer is extremely camera/mammogram shy.

I was told a 2 month wait for a plastic surgeon and changed where I was going immediately. My cancer was extremely large and it didn't need any extra time to get larger.

I had first mastectomy after 4 chemo treatments and then had 4 more chemo treatments followed by radiation. I have since had a second mastectomy and DIEP reconstruction on both breasts. If I had it to do over again, I'd have gone to these surgeons and had bilateral mastectomies with immediate DIEP reconstruction as it uses your own tissue without moving muscle and can withstand radiation. If you're interested in looking at options, go to www.breastcenter.com. I travelled from Florida to New Orleans for this surgery by the best micro-surgeons in the world. Same price. Insurance covered it. Air fare was 470 for hubby and me and we stayed at the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge for free. Surgery was in private hospital "Center for restorative breast surgery" and the care was out of this world wonderful. I am very happy with my results. VERY happy :)

I am sorry you have this diagnosis and that you are looking at cancer treatments. Keep in mind that this is very doable and things have changed so much in the last few years. I never even got sick through my treatments and I worked all the way through. Once you get all of your tests done, and get to see your Dr. (don't be afraid to change if you are uncomfortable for ANY reason) you'll have a plan of action to get rid of this disease. Stay positive, you will survive :)

Very best wishes for your health.
