Is TAMOXIFEN indicated in my case?

I am 48 years old and I have had a full masectomy on the left upper quadrant ( MADDEN type) in 16.09.2005. Before the surrgery I have 7 chemos and 25 radio therapy sessions. After the surrgery I had 2 more chemo therapy.I had 8 lumps removed and just one was invaded. The results of the hormone receptor status are:Invasive ductal carcinoma vith ROLER (?) cells  CX, PT1a III, PM1b III,
ER positive 2%, PGR negative in tumorral cells, BcI2 pozitive diffuse, EFGR negative, CerbB2 positive diffuse of the membrane(+++) and Ki67 negative.
I want to know if in my case, TAMOXIFEN is efficient, because my terapist said that I should decide ! I don't want to start a 5 years long treatement, with so many seccundary effects, if the odds of it succceading are small.

Dear roxxane:  Tamoxifen is a commonly used hormone therapy to reduce the chances of cancer coming back after surgery when breast cancer cells contain receptors for estrogen or progesterone.  Tamoxifen works by blocking  the effect of estrogen on the cancer cell.   Decisions about use of tamoxifen, chemotherapy and other adjuvant treatments such as Herceptin, would need to be made based on discussion with the oncologist reviewing the risks and benefits in your individual situation.
