Is taxol a must?

I have been reading so many horrible side effects of Taxol that i would like to know if it is an absolute must?That 4 AC chemo, and a year of herceptin alone wouldn't be enough?My tumor was 2 cm and nodes were negative and had a mastectomy but my fish test was positive.

Hi Amrine,

Some say it's easier on the body than adriamyacin. I had an allergic reaction to it so only had one treatment of it and then several of other chemo's. They all have side effects and as with everything else, you never know which ones you're going to experience.

It is current favorite of oncologists so it's earned it's place on the top of the heap of chemo drugs. Consider trying it and see if you can tolerate it. But for sure discuss this with your oncologist.
