Is this is a sign of breast cancer

Is this is a sign of breast cancer

When I was 18 which was 3 or 4 yrs ago I had a crust around my nipple on my areola. It cleared up after a few weeks and I didnt think nothing of it.It hasnt appeared ever since Now, Im starting to think that it was something serious. I looked up the symptoms that i had and it says that it might be a sign of pagets disease a form of breast cancer but it also says that the disease only occurs in women who are 65 or older. Could I have breast cancer or can this be a sign of just an infection that I had and nothing serious
Im really scared.

Hi,
What you had 3 or 4 years ago could have been a benign skin condition like eczema or simply dry skin.Had it been Paget's disease it would have certainly progressed within weeks (Not years, as you have mentioned)to serious destruction of the skin.Symptoms would have included redness, tingling, itching, increased sensitivity, bleeding, burning and pain, nipple discharge and inversion.
If  your areola and nipple look normal and actually you have no symptoms mentioned above, then you really shouldn't worry about having this disease.
Best wishes...

The areola was kind of flaky back then and it peeled and was itchy... it disappeared and it hasnt been back since and I havent had any other symptoms that you mentioned..Do you think it was an infection  also I feel a lump in my breast it seemed like it shrinked a little but it hasnt been bothering me the lump seems to be moveable

Hi again,
What you had in the past hasn't recurred and you shouldn't be still worrying about it.Obviously it was just a mild skin condition that has healed.
Now,concerning the lump in your breast,it could very well be a cyst or fibroadenoma which are both generally benign in nature. However nothing can be said with certainty, over the internet, what this lump could be.You need to have this nodule examined by your doctor who may order an ultrasound test that will clearly show if the lump is a cyst (fluid filled sac) or a solid nodule.Depending on the characteristics of the lump, your doctor will let you know if further investigation is needed.
Take care...
