Itchy Nipples Paget Disease

Itchy Nipples Paget Disease

A few months ago my right nipple began itching like crazy.  I had never felt anything like that and tried to be as gentle with my itching as possible.  The skin around my nipples became inflamed and red.  I also felt a burning sensation.  The skin eventually became flaky which made it itch worse.  I started using a body lotion on my breast several times a day which helped it heal and disappear.  Now I still feel a burning sensatin from time to time in my nipple but those moments are few and far between.  What prompts me to mention this is the pain I am beginning to feel in my left breast toward the outside which has caused additional pain to reach up into my armpit. The pain seems to be radiating from what feels like my arm, when closed against my side, is rubbing against some type of object that feels lodged between my breast and armpit.  I have done several breast exams and do not feel any types of lumps. What I do feel is something toward the top of the left side of my breast and just below my actual armpit that feels about 2" long and think.  When I check my right underarm I do not feel that.  I am wondering if that is just some form of inflamed muscle tissue that is bothering me or if the sign of the opposite breast nipple is possibly paget's disease and there may be something underlying that I should be concerned about.  Any suggestions would be appreicated.  I currently do not have insurance but will be insured next month.  Should I wait a month so that if they discover something it is not considered a pre-existing condition or is this something that I should get looked at sooner?

I would suggest that you see your Dr. for a clinical breast exam rather than waiting or treating this yourself. The two things you mention may not be related at all but it's always wise to get that Professional opinion. I understand about the Insurance issue and that will have to be your decision. If you feel comfortable waiting the month then do so; you might go ahead and set up an appointment now for after you Ins.takes effect as sometimes you have to wait to get one. Please accept our apology for the delay in answering  Kindest regards .....
