Joint and muscle pain from Toxol

Joint and muscle pain from Toxol

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007. My treatment consisted of 4 rounds of Adramiacyn every other week and the 4 rounds of Toxol also every other week.  With my first round of Toxol I had severe muscle and joint pain and with each round it was worse.  My Oncologist gave me Loratab for the pain and when that did not help put me on Lyrica until my last dose and stated the pain should go away shortly.  Four years later and my muscle pain and joint pain have steadly gotten worse. After sitting for long periods of time it is extremely hard for me to stand up and start walking.  Everything I have read up on Toxol state that the joint and muscle pain are not permanent and do go away shortly after chemo.  Is it common to have joint and muscle pain this long after taking Toxol and what kind of Dr. Should I see for these symptoms. I am in my 50's and am not ready to quit leaving, but there are days when I find it difficult to walk across the floor.

Are you on tamoxifen or one of the aromatase inhibitors? Arimidex, Femara, Aromasin?

Those cause joint pain as well.

Best wishes.
