Just starting radiation

Just starting radiation

Hello,  I'm starting my 33 rads on Monday and was wondering if someone could tell me how I'm going to feel?  I know it's different for everyone but it's been a month since my last chemo and I'm still very tired.  Its like I can't wait to go to bed at 9:00 pm and then I have a hard time getting up.  I have three kids and am divorced.  I did have help for the chemo but I won't for radiation.  Will I need help?  Will I be to tired to do anything?  Will I be tired on weekends as well or just after getting treatment?  I sure can't wait until all of this is done.

Dear Imccall63, Fatigue can also be associated with radiation therapy, it may or may not be as much as you experienced during the chemotherapy treatment but it is difficult to say.  It does tend to be cummulative, meaning as the time goes on there may be increasing feelings of fatigue.  I am giving you a link to a website as a resource for you with some suggestions for managing fatigue related to cancer treatment.  The website is www.chemocare.com and under side effect management is a good document with information that may be of help to you as you proceed with your treatment.
