Large bruised lump on left breast

My friend has a large hard bruised lump on lower right side of her left breast. She has had it for over a year and not seen a doctor but it is getting uncomfortable and more noticeable. What could this be..? I'm trying to get her to see a Doctor. Could it be cancer? Thanks..I'm just worried for her..

I was thinking personally .... I don't think I would want someone, friend or not, posting on a public forum anything about my medical condition. Your friend obviously is not terribly concerned about this since you stated that it has been present for over a year. We all have the right to decide for ourselves about medical treatment .... It's wonderful to encourage someone to seek help but I the end it is their decision. It may seem foolish to others but we all have our reasons for doing, or not doing, what we do. It's great that you are encouraging her but eventually you may lose your friendship over it. Sometimes the more you "insist", the more the other person tends to "resist". You're a good friend though ..... Regards ...

Ok thanks..I shall keep trying to get her to see a Dr. Not sure how this is a privacy issue when no real IDs are on line..but thanks anyways.

Your friend needs to post a question here but most important she should go to the Dr. for an examination. This is a long time to have such a lump and not see anyone about it. Please continue to encourage her to see a Dr. ..... it could be something that isn't serious or it could be something that needs to be treated. It is very foolish of her not to have this lump examined but it is her decision in the end. I'm sorry but we really can't venture a guess about something like this and there is also the matter of Privacy Laws ..... it wouldn't be proper to discuss this in detail with someone other than the person it concerns.   Keep trying ..... remind her that things DO NOT just go away on their own so things will  only get worse the longer she waits.   Regards .....
