Leaking fluid and blood from nipples

I discovered in late March that I was leaking a clear fluid from my left nipple.  Upon going to my Obgyn he got a dark fluid and some blood to come from the right nipple.  He sent me for a mammogram.  Which came back abnormal on both sides.  Then he sent me for Ductal Lavage and dr. said that because of it coming from both and only my mom having breast cancer the chances of me having breast cancer were only slightly elevated.  So said I didn't need this procedure and sent me back to Obgyn.  He did papsmears of fluid coming from breast and the left one came back showing atypical ductal cells with degenerative changes.  What does this mean?  Should I have any further tests done to see if it is cancerous?  The mammogram showed a cyst or fibroanoma on left side and enlarged lymph nodes on right side.  Should I get an appointment with a breast cancer dr. and go from there? Should I be worried?  And info would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Can you tell me anything about what atypical cells are?  And it says with degenerative changes what does this mean?  Thankyou

Dear Karen61268:  With respect to nipple discharge, the time to worry about it is when it is on one side, spontaneous (comes out without sqeezing), and is clear and sticky (like an egg white) or bloody.  I don't understand why the doctor would not do the ductal lavage, since you were there for that procedure.  It may have ruled out any further problem.  Since you are obviously still concerned, get a second opinion with a breast specialist.
