Low Risk Assymetrical density in left breast

Low Risk Assymetrical density in left breast

I am 53 just had my first mammography screening , the result was low risk assymetrical density in left breast
have been asked to go back for ultrasound and or possible biopsy if required, i am worried is this serious

Hi,
Asymmetric density means that there is an area that does not appear normal as compared to the rest of the tissue and further investigation, such as a spot compression and/or ultrasound are needed to further characterize the area.Try not to over stress yourself too much... it's very common to be called back and it doesn't mean that there is necessarily anything serious.Just that more evaluation is needed.
