I have a feeling it is a hematoma. Just nice to hear it from others. It is very uncomfortable and I am going to call my doctors office tomorrow just to be sure. It's been a stressful month worrying about all of this and now the hematoma, but I am still counting myself very blessed to have the benign results :)
Since you state that you have external bruising this certainly does sound like a hematoma. These are not unusual following this type of biopsy and it may take some time for it to be absorbed and I'm thinking "weeks". In the meantime I wouldn't apply any pressure to the area; no constant checking to see if it's still there no matter how tempting. We tend to do that you know. We're happy to hear that your results came back negative. Regards..
Hi,
This could very well be a small hematomas which can occur when a blood vessel leaks blood,
coagulates and forms a lump. A hematoma, while uncomfortable,is not anything dangerous.
Apply warm compresses, gently massage the area and see see if it goes away on its own. If this problem does not resolve, you should let your doctor examine you especially if the lump becomes larger as it might need to be treated in another way (such as by aspiration).
Meanwhile,congratulations for your benign results ! :)
