Lump not on Mamo but is felt

Five years ago I had a biopsy which stated that I had Atypical Ductal hyperplasia and now I have a lump which is felt easily, on that same side, but did not show up on the mamogram (mammogram)-now going to Breast specialist for an ultrasound but already know that he will take it out. How often does this diagnosis turn into cancer?  Cancer runs through both sides of my family.

Dear marjay:  Atypical ductal hyperplasia is a risk factor for developing cancer (about 1% higher risk) but this does not mean that this lump is cancer.  However, any lump that can be felt requires further investigation.
