Lump under left armpit

by worried86, Jan 14, 2002 12:00AM
Last month i noticed a painful lump under my left arm pit, I didn't take much notice. The pain went away and the lump got smaller. Now 3 weeks later the pain is back. It feel like I pulled a muscle in my left shoulder and there is a pinching pain under my left arm. If you could advise me in anyway it would be appreciated. Thank you.

Dear worried86, The most common symptom of breast cancer is a painless lump.  There could be a number of causes for this pain and discomfort, the first step in finding out what might be causing this is having yourself evaluated by a health care professional.  They would be able to ask questions regarding the history of the problem and do a physical examination.
