Lumpectomy and Lymph Nodes

I have stage 2 ILC breast cancer.  I had a lumpectomy and 8 lymph nodes removed almost 3 weeks ago.  I am wondering how long or if I will ever regain normal use of my arm, if the numbnes that I feel in my arm and breast will ever go away.  I am also experiencing extreme sensitivity of the skin on my breast.  This will get better, right?

This sounds like some nerve damage, which sometimes cannot be avoided during surgery such as yours.

There is usually improvement, but it takes time. (I seem to recall reading that nerves can regenerate over as long as a year.)
