Lumps in breast

I have a few small lumbs in left breast. I've gone for removing extra breast tissue after my second child 8yrs ago. Then there were lumbs which was removed last year. After that still more lumps which is painful at times. Went for sonograms and all they say is that it's only milkglands which hardend(???). Is there anyone that can tell me why it only hurts sometimes

Hormones have a lot to do with the variations in the size of cysts and also the discomfort that they cause. This usually follows in some way your menstrual cycle.  Regards ....
