Lumps

Hi...

It's nice to know that there're a community like this.
I have a question, i hope that all of you can sharing some information with me.
I have two lumps on my left breast. The bigger one is about 5cm and the other one 1.5cm.
On this february, i was do some needle test at Surabaya, Indonesia. The doctor said that it was a fibroadenoma mamma. It wasn't dangerous, but they suggested me to have some operation to remove that lumps. But, after remove, it doesn't guarantee that it won't grow again.
Could you please advice me, should i remove it or not?
Thanks.

Regards,
Jovanka

Hi!
First of all, congratulations on the benign diagnosis for your lumps. Fibroadenomas can be removed surgically, but they can grow again.  The decision to have surgery is a very personal one, but unless the fibroadenoma is causing you discomfort or growing at an unusual rate, you might just want to leave it alone.  A surgical procedure does carry some risks (ie infection, healing problems) and, if not necessary to alleviate a significant problem, might be avoided.
Good wishes and keep us posted on your decisions.
