Lupron injections vs ovary removal

June 1998 I had a lumpectomy with lymph node removal(negative). I did radiation and was put on tamoxifen. My tumor was small (1cm) and I had clear margins. The cancer was invasive ductal, and was strongly estrogen postive. Her2Nu Negative.
By Oct I was breaking out in a rash and by Jan they determined it was from the tamoxifen. The rash was all over my body by then. I stopped the tamoxifen- the rash went away. I started the tamoxifen- the rash started again. I was tried on Fareston and the same rash happened. So because I was not menopausal yet there were no other Rx out there for me to take.
July 2000 the cancer returned to the same breast. Sept 2000 I had a mastectomy with immediate tram flap reconstruction. I had some invasive ductal cancer- but a very small amount, as well as non-invasive ductal and non-invasive lobular cancer present in the breast biopsy. Since there wasn't enough invasive ductal present they couldn't determine if the cancer was recurrent or new. I was told chemotherapy wouldn't be of any advantage to me.Since I was still not in menopause there still was no other drug out there for me to take. It was suggested I do Lupron injections to reduce the estrogen in my body because of the first cancer. I have been doing them since November. I am wondering if having my ovaries out would be better than the injections. I do not plan on having any more children. I have been getting really bad hot flashes and night sweats with the injections and can't take anything with estrogen to get rid of them. Would things be better if I had my ovaries removed?
